Purpose

Through Safety & Security Department, IKEA can fulfil its safety policy that is "to always provide a safe environment for our customers and co-workers, to safeguard our property and to have effective and aggressive safety and security programs in place to ensure that everyone's safety awareness continues to grow".
Mandate
The Safety & Security Team leader is the person to lead the safety & security team including external guard service staff to fulfil the above policy, by conduct training to guards and co-workers, and continuously patrolling and supervising the store's fire prevention, physical security equipment, co-worker and customer's safety issues, in order to prevent fire, accident, internal and external crime from happening.
Main Responsibilities and Duties
Safety and Security Measure and Operation
To ensure store safety & security management meet with IKEA group requirements and local government regulations.
To define store safety and security objectives, targets and related annually action plan by accessing current business conditions, co-worker's safety & security awareness and outcome of commercial review.
To develop and implement safety & security routines (instructions) and retain the records showing up to date results.
To conduct internal safety & security audit, propose evacuation drills, fire-fighting equipment testing in order to ensure a good level loss prevention performance.
Incident Handling
To monitor internal and external incident (accident) and provide rapid response, investigation and report of all emergencies.
Coaching
To develop training modules and schedule the training to upgrade safety & security awareness of IKEA managers, co-workers.
To communicate store safety & security status to management, co-workers through safety committee, meetings, surveys, safety board, work observations on site.
Public Relationship
To co-ordinate the communication and claim procedure with insurance company.
To act as a representative, interface with outside agencies (policy, fire-fighting department, external guard service-company, attorneys...), and keep being informed for any regulatory changes.
