Job Title: R&D Laboratory Technician
Job objective:
R&D activities in the field of epoxy industrial coatings applications. Paint formulation and testing work with a strong focus on waterborne technology
The job has the objective to produce and deliver technical results and achievement on technical projects of business relevance. The projects are part of the R&D program supporting the development of new products / technologies for epoxy resin in Coatings and in waterborne coating new technology in particular.
Essential Fuctions:
- Participates in the planning and execution of experimental programs by selecting from a limited range of known methods and conditions and then discussing these ideas with their supervisor.
- Performs routine experimental work without supervision applying high quality standards.
- Makes sure that the results are delivered on time and communicates, at an early stage, progress and any issues that could impact meeting deadlines.
- Critically reviews and arranges experimental data to reveal possible unambiguous relationships. Suggests explanations and further investigation when data deviates from expected levels.
- Communicates experimental results both verbally and in a written report with the guidance of supervisor.
- Masters base products/technology knowledge for the field of application Coatings through on-the-job experiences, reading and training.
- Maintains timely, accurate and (witnessed) lab books in order to provide the records required to properly execute/address all IP questions and needs and to safeguard experimental data.
- Interacts with peers and customers with professionalism and respect.
- Acts within boundaries agreed upon with supervisor.
- Contributes to others' projects in a proactive manner.
- Carries out activities living up to EH&S standards and practices good housekeeping.
Qualification:
- Laboratory Technician
- Good English skill is a plus
- Use of standard office software (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Act proactively on matters related to safety at work, laboratory housekeeping and day to day work organization.
- A first experience demonstrating those aspects and/or in paints & coatings research is a plus.
