Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Application Engineer (apply appropriate title) is to deliver the best possible technical/commercial solution enabling our sales organization to meet the needs and expectations of our customers. The Application Engineer is part of the CCI expert team responsible for providing engineered valve solutions that enhance performance and reliability in critical plant applications in power generation, oil & gas production, petrochemical, and pulp & paper facilities worldwide. As such the Application Engineer will develop an in-depth knowledge of the applications and CCI products, familiar with competitor's products, and up-to-date knowledge of the industry. The Application Engineer will leverage this knowledge and support our sales organization to increase sales and profitability. Training will be provided (locally and at overseas factories) as required depending on perspective candidates experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Other duties may be assigned.
? Provide direct customer support by conducting technical presentations and/or problem solving at customer facility, conducting technical presentations at customer seminars, and attend technical review meetings. He/she will also be required to interpret customer application needs and as required obtain more details and when applicable offer alternative more effective solutions in an evolving strategy which may involve influencing specification(s).
? Provide support for our sales team by reviewing non-standard applications/products, interpretation of specification requirements, review P&ID & piping layouts, technical risk review, field problem review, and evaluate deviation from standards.
? Provide material and training support for our sales team which includes creation of value proposition for standard applications/products, create customer-focused presentations, and training of our sales organizations
? Leverage our technical advantage to increase sales and profitability
? Be an active member of influential technical associations and publish technical articles in leading industry magazines or trade shows associated with Power Generation.
? Ensure that knowledge gained in the field from our customers or competitors flow to our Marketing and Development organizations. Be active in contributing to the success of the company by identifying the needs of our customers and alerting to the changes from our competitions.
Required Skills and Education:
? 5+ years experience in Power Generation industry or related industry
? Worked in Engineering, Sales, Product Manager or Application Engineer
? Familiar with plant designs and/or process controls
? Have worked with customers on problem solving and training
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills
? Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering
? Excellent teamwork skills
? Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time
? Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and in particular Word, Excel and Power Point.
