Department Description:

The Software Solutions Team is located in the Chief Technology Organization of MSI. It is responsible for the successful execution and proliferation of various communications, finger writing recognition, optical character recognition, document capture, and other related software technologies to be used inside and outside of MSI. The organization creates and maintains a variety of software products including Bluetooth, Connection Manager, Finger Writing Recognition, OCR/ICR, Document Capture, VOIP software as well as software modems and other software projects as required by the CTO. The team also commercializes many of these software technologies and other applicable Motorola software assets. It also represents and participates in various worldwide standards bodies like the BT SIG, IEEE and other key interest groups and alliances. The scope of the team comprehends the full life cycle for the business from strategy, business intelligence, technology roadmaps, staffing forecast, business development, financial planning, relationship management, reporting, communications, proposal generation, funnel management, project planning / escalations, and billing, development, sales, marketing and support.

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:

The candidate will conduct research and product design in the pattern recognition domain. The position is located in the Motorola Solutions Shanghai China branch. The successful candidate will work with experienced researchers in the area of pattern recognition. The main responsibilities include, advanced algorithm research on pattern recognition, application software and tools development, high quality patent disclosure and publication submissions, project initiation and realization.

Specific Knowledge/Skills:Specialization in some of the following areas:
- Patten Recognition
- Optical Character Recognition
- Natural Language Processing
- Handwriting Recognition
- Speech Recognition
- Other Closely Related Fields
- 2+ years above work experience in the related domain
- Excellent academic and research records, i.e., significant publications and/or patents
- Innovative thinker
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming
