North APAC Logistics Analyst (regional manager level)
Wokring Location: can be Zhuhai, Shenzhen, or Shanghai
Reports to: Director, Trade and Transport (based in HK)
Principle Accountabilities:
1. Gather, analyze, record and report on current logistics markets (freight, 3PL, and Hub activities)
2. Work directly with our Share Services team in Chennai on reporting and data collection.
3. Maintain regional rate sheets and ensure standard application at global level.
4. Validate routing guide and enforce premium freight policy.
5. Training and direct engagement with site logistics on GLS policy and procedures.
6. Work with the team to determine company and customer needs and make recommendations on cost effective logistics and assist in price negotiations if appropriate.
7. Ensures lowest cost transportation by analyzing company and customer needs, researching transportation methods and auditing carrier costs and performances.
8. Ensure laws, rules and regulations regarding shipping/transportation methods are adhered to and prepares applications for appropriate certifications and licenses.
9. Arranges shipping details such as packing, shipping, and routing of product.
10. Analyzes and recommends transportation and freight costs as well as appropriate routing and carriers to be used.
11. Be familiar with compliance required for corporate, and facility policies and procedures and assist the team in ensuring the highest standards are adhered to in the process.
12. Ensure global logistics metrics are maintained and updated on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
13. Establish and maintain good relationships with agents / suppliers in order to achieve quality of service and consistent cost reduction.
14. Support the team in terms of knowledge and experience in dealing with daily logistics issues.
Job Requirements *
1. A minimum of 3+ years global logistics with expertise in analytics, transportation, program management, and systems.
2. Fluent English written and spoken
3. Expert level use of Microsoft applications such Excel, power point, and access.
4. Analytically curious, able to synthesize large amounts of data and inputs to generate a balanced and thoughtful output.
