We are an Australian owned company based in Changning district in the export of Garments, Textiles and Fashion accessories. The directors have been in Shanghai for last 6 years and have dealing with several factories in China.

We are looking to grow our team in Shanghai.

We need a qualified JUNIOR Merchandiser with experience in Knits and Wovens apparel - mainly woven and knit workwear and corporate clothing. Duties would include the following;

1. Working closely with the General Manager and Senior merchandiserto process purchase orders recieved from overseas customers.

2. Contacting new factories for quotations.

3. Raising purchase contracts with new factories after prices are confirmed.

4. Independantly follow up with the order process from sample approval to bulk shipment and report to GM.

5. Should be able to source garment factories, accessories, fabric through Alibaba and other search engines.

6. Visiting factories regularly to check quality of goods and all details required.

Factories are mainly in Wuhan and Nanchang and also other cities in Zhejiang/Jiangsu provinces.

Qualifications for this positions are;

1. Preferably a Graduate from Textile or Fashion Design Backgreound with strong understanding of fabrics and garment specifications.

2. Should know how to measure a complicated womens garment without hesitation.

3. Should be a firm and strong negotiator to handle the factories and ensure his/her instructions are followed. Don't require people who need to consult their manager for every decision!

4. Prefeably with some technical skills to be able to pick-up defects in garments while visiting factories and while checking samples.

5. Flexibility is required as there will be garment orders, and also textile and fashion accessory orders.

We are looking for someone with confidence, at least 1 years experience in garments, with a good level of wrtten and spoken English.

Should be willing to travel within China to meet suppliers.
