Essential functions and duties of the position include the following:
1. Prospecting, qualifying and acquiring new customers.
a. Creating and maintaining contacts and relations with assigned prospects.
b. Setting appointments with prospective customers, conducting sales calls on-line via web/teleconference or in person visiting customers in their offices or at trade shows, and doing necessary follow up.
c. Maintaining contact with management about sales activities, opportunities, issues and issue resolution with assigned accounts.
d. Identifying and qualifying new prospective customers and opportunities.
e. Taking a proactive and innovative approach to developing new business.
2. Sales and activity management responsibilities encompass:
a. Discussing sales objectives with management to effect proper sales program.
b. Participating in Company planning activities as directed.
c. Completing and submitting prospective customer calls, contact information, sales opportunities and contracts, and follow-up requirements into company CRM system in a timely fashion.
d. Obtains information from prospective customers about competitive activity.
e. Monitors customers and prospective customers sites for trends and/or opportunities.
f. Suggest to management ideas and programs involving product or marketing techniques gained through broad knowledge, experience and prospective customer feedback.
3. Travels to prospective customer locations, attends trade shows, meetings and conventions as circumstances demand.
Position Requirements
1. College degree or equivalent.
2. Familiarity with the Plastics Industry product development, marketing or sales.
3. A minimum of five years of relevant sales experience.
4. Demonstrable success record in direct selling.
5. Should be technologically savvy – experienced working with web-based systems.
6. Must possess excellent verbal presentation capability, communication skills and interpersonal skills, both in person and over the phone.
7. Multi-lingual, with perfect knowledge of the German and English language.
8. Ability to work effectively with peers across cultures and geography.
9. Good planning, organizing and prioritization skills are required, in addition to an ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
10. Should be able to demonstrate an ability to be successful with limited direction. A self-starter that can follow through on responsibilities and is comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, high-growth environment.
11. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate a high level of energy, enthusiasm, strong work ethic, and proven record of advancement.
