RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direction of Senior and Principal Show Lighting Designers provide lighting installation assistance during and throughout the construction and installation phases of Hong Kong Disneyland. The Show Lighting Installation Assistant will perform duties as required. Such duties will include:

¨ Maintenance of lighting paper work including drawings (AutoCAD) schedules (EXCEL) and specifications (Word).

¨ Processing purchase requests including inquiries with vendors.

¨ Review of lighting installations on site, including contractor progress and processing answers to contractor questions.

¨ Verification of installed lighting systems, including testing of lighting equipment and controls.

¨ Test and Adjustment of lighting installations, including direction to others regarding the focusing of lighting fixtures, focusing lighting fixtures at the direction of Senior and Principal designers, use and programming of control systems at the direction of Senior and Principal designers.

¨ Support field-testing of lighting fixtures and lighting controls, including the procurement of fixtures, temporary mounting of fixtures and electrical hookup of lighting fixtures and controls.

¨ Minor repair of lighting equipment including lamp changing, wiring plugs and connectors, cleaning of fixtures.

¨ Attendance at team meetings.

¨ Keep Senior and Principal designers informed as to work progress and completion.

¨ Supporting Senior and Principal designers with language translation.

¨ Interaction with a variety of project divisions including architecture, project management, park maintenance, park operations, contractors and vendors.

Successful candidate will be able to work well under pressure and time constraints, and interact with a variety of personalities and professions in an open and positive manner reflecting confident professionalism. The successful candidate will be flexible regarding work shifts. Candidate should also expect to work overtime hours when required evenings and weekends.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

¨ University BA or equivalent

¨ Minimum of 3 years lighting design and/or technician experience.

¨ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

¨ Ability to follow through on tasks and track multiple efforts.

¨ Understanding of the creative process and the development of creative design

¨ Ability to read and understand technical construction drawings.

¨ Working knowledge and experience in Theatrical and/or Architectural Lighting design, technology, and lighting principles.

¨ Basic knowledge of electricity and electrical safety.

¨ Advanced PC skills including AutoCAD, Excel and Word.

¨ Ability to lift objects of weight in excess of 15kilo and ability to climb to roofs and catwalks comfortably and safely.

¨ English and Chinese language skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

¨ Advanced knowledge and experience with automated lighting and theatrical lighting control systems including computer networks, and serial, MIDI and SMPTE communications. Ability to test and trouble shoot DMX and other control protocol.

¨ Theme park experience including field installations.

¨ Familiarity with construction sites and related safety concerns.
