Carrier Building Systems & Services has an opening for an experienced Mechanical Engineer or Software Engineer to serve as a vital member of an engineering team based in Shanghai, China. This position supports software tools that are a key component of Carrier's E-CAT suite of system and analysis tools. The E-CAT tools are commercial HVAC equipment selection tools that use underlying physical modeling to predict equipment performance. Activities primarily include updating the tool for new products and options, and managing the insertion of new product information, and updating models into the E-CAT software. Specific product focus area is primarily applied and package chillers.

The incumbent will have responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Plan and prioritize programs with Product Marketing and/or other program sponsors.
- Develop detailed project plan, program specifications, and other project related documentation.
- Lead, direct, and coordinate the work of other programmers.
- Conduct qualification testing and debugging for specific projects.
- Effectively communicate with Product Marketing, Carrier Engineering, and Independent sales channels on various projects.
- Perform software development tasks.
- Supports software tools that are a key component of Carrier’s E-CAT suite of system and analysis tools.

Education:

- BA/BS degree in Engineering or Computer Science with 4-7+ years’ experience.
- MA/MS degree in Engineering or Computer Science with 2-5+ years experience.

Experience / Qualifications:
- Programming in C#, VB6, Fortran or similar languages.
- Project Management.
- Engineering experience in design or application of water chilling equipment or other compressor-bearing HVAC equipment.
- Software Design and Programming.
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate across functions.
