Title: Senior IT Specialist/ IT Supervisor
Studio: Information Technology Department
Reports to: IT Manager
Pay Status: Exempt
Summary: This experienced-level position is responsible for providing administration, development, upgrades and support for network and enterprise systems as appropriate. Responsibilities include installation, configuration, support, and maintenance of software and hardware related to server and infrastructure systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)
General Network and Server Administration:
· Performs user administration for intranet, Windows Active Directory and email. Manages employee arrivals and departures, creates and manages email distribution lists. May manage related standards and procedures as directed by IT Manager.
· Monitors network systems performance and capabilities on an ongoing basis. Provides status as appropriate.
· Interfaces with business units, departments, vendors, or consultants to resolve network-related problems.
· Maintains backup/recovery operations and performs backup, restoration, and security procedures as needed. May manage related standards and procedures as directed by IT Manager.
· Monitors network systems security.
· Provides individual assistance to users as appropriate.
· Monitors Network systems for current software patches, security updates and virus signature updates. Installs related updates as needed. May manage related standards and procedures as directed by IT Manager.
· Performs preventative maintenance on server systems and related technologies.
· May manage or perform updates, installs, configurations and/or R & D of server related systems included but not limited to:
o Storage
o Backup and Recovery
o Logon Scripting
o Drive Mapping
o File Directory Security
o Network Licensing
o Workstation and Server Management
o Remote Office Connectivity
o WAN, LAN and Internet Connectivity
o DNS and/or DHCP
o VPN and Dial-up
Email Systems: Remote Access To, Spam Filtering, User Administration, iPhone Connectivity.
Database Systems: SQL.
New Network and Server Technologies Implementation:
· Works in a team environment with structured project management processes. Effectively communicates all installs, upgrades, and task status to the IT Manager.
· May assist in the design of new network and server systems, depending on the system and project.
· Installs LAN devices and applications at the direction of the IT Manager.
· Maintains highest appropriate level of network systems training to support LAN systems.
· May assist in the research and development of new network technologies and improvements of existing systems as directed by IT Manager. Must effectively provide findings and recommendations for implementation.
Daily Troubleshooting and Support:
· Acts as part of the escalation path for other teams within the IT Department as they pertain to network connectivity and troubleshooting, including but not limited to the following areas:
Level 2 and 3 Help Desk Tickets, Network Specialty.
o Level 2 and 3 print server administration and troubleshooting.
o Web server connectivity and configuration assistance.
o Networks and desktop interfaces for CADD applications.
o Remote Client and Remote Office Connectivity.
Disaster Recovery:
Acts as a member of IT System Recovery Team as identified in Callison China's IT Disaster Recovery Plan.
Maintains daily data backup and recovery systems and offsite storage.
Assesses damage in the event of a disaster.
Works as part of a team to recover any systems damage.
Recommends improvement to the entire process where needed.
Provides outstanding customer service to clients inside and outside of Callison China.
Helps foster solutions to complex problems.
Information Technology Team Responsibilities:
Provides back up support to Help Desk staff upon request and dependent on availability and ability.
Provides outstanding customer service to clients inside and outside of Callison China.
Helps foster solutions to complex problems.
Promotes Technology use and Callison China's position as a leader in the field.
Provides detailed documentation of task status in Help Desk Intranet Software.
Provides fundamental knowledge of all Callison China computer systems and performs basic troubleshooting (i.e., reboot, change paper) on all systems.
Maintains an outlook towards the future and where industry trends may take us.
Cross trains for other positions within the department in order to gain basic troubleshooting skills for various positions and provide coverage for other team members.
Educates Callison China employees on related IT functions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Mandarin and English speaking
· Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, preferred.
· Minimum of five years experience in IT or related field required.
· Minimum of three year intermediate level experience in Windows 2003, Exchange 200x, security and networking required.
· Experience in development of technical systems requirements desired.
· Minimum of one year experience in research and development required.
· Must be flexible with work schedule; may be requested to work evenings or weekends on occasion.
Demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding customer service to clients inside and outside of Callison China.
Demonstrates a high level of persistence, effort and commitment to performing quality work.
· Demonstrated willingness to work a flexible schedule
· Excellent organization, documentation and communication skills and experience.

· Normal office environment with moderate noise levels, occasional lifting of up to 30 kg., regular walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing and reaching.
