Responsibilities
Software Development: Perform instrument control software development in a collaborative team environment.
Customer Engagement: Collect customer input, develop concepts, and conduct feasibility studies to align with customer needs.
Full Software Lifecycle: Manage all phases of software maintenance and new software development, including requirement specification, design, implementation, software integration, testing, and documentation, adhering to company procedures.
Ownership and Implementation: Take ownership of the design and implementation of software modules.
Mentorship: Mentor junior software developers to enhance their skills and performance.
Quality Assurance: Execute quality assurance activities such as risk analysis, technical reviews of software deliverables, and code inspections.
Maintenance: Undertake software maintenance efforts to ensure continued performance and reliability.
Process Improvement: Support the improvement of the software development process and contribute to development cost reduction efforts.
Tool Recommendation: Recommend or implement software development tools to enhance productivity and quality.

Minimum Qualifications
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Time spent pursuing an advanced degree may be considered towards experience requirements.
Industry Experience: 3 years of experience in commercial software development, including at least one full life cycle product development from concept to release.
C++ Expertise: 3 years of experience using C++ technologies, including 2 years in GUI development with tools such as QT and MFC.
Modular Design: 2 years of experience in modular design applying proper OOA/D design principles and design patterns. Familiarity with UML.
Requirement Analysis: 2 years of experience in product software requirement analysis.
Learning Enthusiasm: Passion for learning new technologies and domains.
User-Centric Development: Desire to create software that delights users.
Analytical and Collaborative Skills: Demonstrated analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative work ethic.
Documentation and Communication: Excellent documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Effort Estimation: Experience with development effort estimation.
Language Proficiency: Proficient in English for documentation and meetings.

Preferred Qualifications
Embedded Software Development: Experience in embedded software development and/or integration.
Linux Development: Experience in Linux platform development.
Medical Device Development: Experience in the development of medical devices and working knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulation.
Agile Methodologies: Experience in Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.
Additional Technologies: Experience with other technologies such as .NET, SQL, and web development.
