The Teacher is responsible for providing students with an engaging English language environment throughout their course ofstudy. This includes delivering lessons to the highest standards of English Language Teaching, thus enabling students to reach their personal learning objectives and become competent users of English as a Foreign Language.
The Teacher reports to the Director of Studies (DoS) and liaises with the Centre Operations Director (COD).

Working hours and locations
The Full-time Teacher works for 40 hours per week, of which 21 hours (25 classes) are contact teaching hours, distributed in
agreement with the DoS and COD. Teachers may have teaching duties in the centre or off-site. Teachers can be assigned
to any of the EF centres within the city but would generally be based in one centre.
Main Responsibilities
? Become familiar with the programmes and courses of study at the centre
? Be familiar with the administrative procedures employed by the centre
? Give lessons to the highest standards of English language teaching
? Demonstrate clear understanding and delivery of lesson objectives
? Develop and use suitable supplementary materials as necessary
? Use audio/video materials in classes as appropriate
? Develop and deliver Life Clubs both in centre and city-wide
? Assist in the Oral Placement Testing of new students
? Run face-to-face Personal Study Planning sessions (PSP) with students in accordance with the centres' Course
Management Procedures
? In conjunction with all centre staff, be responsible for students' welfare and progress
? Update student files and complete progress reports (F2F feedback) in a timely manner
? Actively promote iLab self-study and Life Club among all students
? Carry out teaching related responsibilities including, but not limited to Life Clubs, PSPs, marketing events, seminars
and presentations
? Assist the centre management in informing students of centre aims and objectives
? Carry out the timetable duties as assigned
? Begin and end classes on time
? Prepare lessons and equipment in advance for all classes
? Substitute for absent colleagues, perhaps at short notice, on or off-site
? Attend centre social events as required
? Meet regularly with the DoS/Senior Teacher to communicate all relevant information
? Cooperate with the COD/DoS and centre supervisors in ensuring the constructive communication and efficient
operation of the centre
? Assist the DoS upon request with the development and marketing of courses and induction of sales and teaching
staff into the practices of the centre
? Take on administrative work and/or projects including, but not limited to, cataloguing supplementary materials,
giving workshops and organizing extra-curricular events, as directed by the DoS
? Keep the teachers' room, equipment and resources well-organized and in good condition
Professional Development
? Regularly evaluate own performance and progress
? Attend and participate in workshops in teacher development offered by the centre
? Observe and be observed by the DoS and teaching colleagues
? Be pro-active in improving teaching skills through sharing knowledge with colleagues, and using teaching resources
found in the centre, EF Intranet, Internet and any other available sources
