Key Responsibilities

1. Create initial prototype development technical packages from design briefs.

2. Evaluate samples for fit, spec, and construction details.

3. Leverage 3D software to view and evaluate 3D apparel renderings.

4. Conduct fittings on live models and mannequins.

5. Clearly communicate fit and pattern corrections to vendors.

6. Issue final production approvals with full graded specs.

7. Build vendor capability to assume ownership of end to end development and production sample approvals.

8. Evaluate fit and grading on 3D avatars.

9. Ensure all garments meet minimum construction standards and hit required manufacturing tolerances.

10. Liaise with Colorado product Team providing logistical support for key meetings and milestones.

11. Drive for continual improvement and innovation; sponsor newness.

12. Evolve Technical Design strategy, operations, methods, and measures of effectiveness.

13. Research and resolve fit, pattern, and grading issues with vendors prior to issuing bulk production approval.

14. Build audit mechanisms to consistently monitor and check fit, grading, and vendor compliance.

15. Collaborate with other members of the Colorado team on both ongoing and new products.

16. Support the Technical Design team in meeting seasonal deliverables and projects.

17. Drive and evolve a Technical Design strategy; operations, methods, and measures of effectiveness.

18. Travel to factories to troubleshoot, educate, and build capability.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and local language.

2. Ability to act as a technical resource and mentor to others

3. Strong working knowledge of manufacturing, design, product development and merchandising processes from the inception of design through production.

4. Proficient pattern making skills (including hands-on experience in flat pattern & draping), garment sizing and pattern grading.

5. Working knowledge of Computer wised pattern system (e.g. Gerber) and PLM and 3D experience is a plus.

6. A trained eye of good fitting garment (both, on 'live' model and Fit Form) and thorough understanding of garment proportion and functionalities.

7. Knowledge of garment construction standard and engineering, textiles/fabric, trims, finishing (wet & dry), and manufacturing methods.

8. Ability to interpret design intent and offer alternative solutions, as needed.

9. Attention to detail, accurate and articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

10. Proactive. Solution driven mind set. Strong sense of urgency and ability to adhere to Product Development Calendar.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree from accredited university in Technical Design, Fashion Design, or Patternmaking.

2. 5-10 years of Apparel Experience preferably with knowledge of technical design and pattern making.

3. Ability to work in an extremely creative, fast paced team environment.

4. Good written and verbal English.

5. Detail oriented.

6. Good interpersonal and communication skills
