The IT and Help Desk Analyst position assists staff with technical support of desktop computers, software applications, switches, routers, and firewalls and related technology. Support includes specification, installation, and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines. Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems. The position provides one-on-one consulting to Harbor Freight staff. Great customer service is also critical to success in this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide desktop support services and activities with a high level of customer satisfaction including: installation, configuration and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment, thin clients and software.
• Troubleshoot and resolve client network and application issues
• Create, test and successfully run Windows automation scripts for enterprise deployments of software, updates and group policies in both test and production environments
• Ability to wipe and/or re-image computers from USB stick or network based installer
• Create, follow and improve upon Standard Operating Procedures and Knowledge Base Articles.
• Configure and troubleshoot MS Office applications for clients
• Use Microsoft Active Directory to set folder/user permissions; add clients and workstations to the domain
• Track hardware in company’s asset inventory
• Address client-side performance and reliability issues across multiple locations
• Properly configure agents to ensure reliable backup and recovery functions for client computers and laptops
• Maintain and update documentation for assigned projects and systems
• Assist in the implementation of telecommunications systems, including VOIP, cell phones and mailbox management
• Basic network and WiFi connectivity troubleshooting
• Desire to learn and grow in a fast paced environment
• Ability to follow instructions from Network and Infrastructure Engineers during upgrades and configuration changes
• Understands urgency and excellent in execution are key success factors
• English proficiency is required both verbal and written
• Additional duties as assigned by management

Job Qualifications – Education and Experience

1. Rquired

• Familiar with Windows 7, 10 and Office 2010, 2013, 2016
• 2-4 years experience supporting Windows and/or OS X environments
• 2-4 years experience with hardware maintenance and support, including Dell, Lenovo, and HP
• Experience with remote desktop management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail
• Strong customer service skills; familiarity with ITIL a plus
• Strong analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
• Energetic, highly self-motivated and able to work efficiently and productively in a start-up company environment
• General knowledge of networking principles and technology
• Strong team mentality while maintaining performance as an individual contributor

1. Peferred

• 1+ years OS X support and troubleshooting
• 1+ year supporting Adobe Cloud applications
• 1+ years of scripting in Windows environments
• 1+ years working with SCCM or similar
• 1+ years experience with Microsoft Exchange and Outlook (2010/2013/2016) in a 500+ user environment
• 1+ years experience with Microsoft Active Directory
• 1+ years experience with backups and disaster recovery planning across multiple locations
• Experience with DNS, DHCP, and network protocols
• OS X Certification / A+
• Experience with mobile device management, iPhone and Android based devices

Physical Requirements

General office environment requiring ability to:

• Ability to sit for long periods of time
• Ability to move about an office.
• Able to lift and transport moderately heavy objects (45lbs), such as computers and peripherals.
