Mission: For Materials assigned to his Category, define strategies and approaches to achieve goals set out at the beginning of the year and agreed to with the BUs (typically 2 digit savings yoy, Zero Deffect, OTD/LT, Pay Terms)

1.Responsible for driving results in area of responsibility by working with/through the Proc. Operations (Regional)

2.Actively manage all aspects of procurement for materials under assigned category (independent of physical location (e.g., region, within a given Business Unit, etc.)

3.Takes ownership / actively manage the specifications, supplier base (AVL approved vendor list) and contracts for assigned categories

4. Provide guidelines/requirement to Proc. Ops for tracking vendor performance at the regional level

5.Work closely with Business Unit leadership (head, R&D…) to set objectives for categories and agree on how value will be measured and delivered

6. Develop market intelligence on key suppliers worldwide, own key supplier relationships based on assigned categories and monitor global adoption of key strategies and suppliers

7.Prioritize and schedule all strategic sourcing initiatives for the year; actively drive the sourcing process

8.Support Regional Procurement in managing tier two materials

9.Provide direction for regional deployment of procurement strategy

10.Initiate interaction with R&D / PLM for upstream interaction on procurement of new products and investigate on further simplification opportunities of tier 2 materials

11. Ensure national/global contracts are followed for assigned materials

12.Provide insight for forecasting of resources, & market conditions needed at the BU level and within procurement

13.Support escalation process on supply issues within his Category

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in industry (Telco, Category Vendors)

• Solid functional experience in Procurement, Sales or Marketing, Manufacturing, Business Management a plus

• Advanced degrees a plus (Masters, MBA or PhD)

• Experience dealing with global companies preferred

• International experience and English a must

• Negotiation skills and past strategy experience desirable
