Main Purpose

• To source new products and suppliers to meet the development demands keeping Trendsetter at the forefront of our industry. 
• Manage development and liaising with suppliers and internal teams.

            

    

Duties and responsibilities

• Deliver in conjunction with development; on trend, innovative, commercial product, in cost, fit for purpose, meeting end customer specification and Critical Path;
• Give input into the critical path process;
• Identify and source new suppliers and vendors and then managing the vendors and supplier’s selection process based on price, quality, support, capacity and reliability;
• Build and maintain effective relationships at all levels of the internal business including overseas offices;
• Close Co-operation with internal technical team to ensure all new products meet the required product standards;
• Work with the Production and Buying teams to support and execute the sourcing strategy for each area, working directly with our factory, UK office and suppliers to understand their capabilities;
• Troubleshoot cost, quality and delivery concerns with management of risk relating to quality, cost, delivery and supply of newly developing purchases;
• Give input into internal training on new product concepts and technical features;
• Working with the team to be highly organized with samples and sample management;
• Manage the sign off process from end-to-end;

                                            

    

Person Specification

• Extensive and demonstrable experience in product development;
• Textiles degree with textiles experience;
• Excellent people management skills;
• Understanding of price negotiation in a commercial environment;
• Organised and methodical with an ability to prioritise own workload;
• Good communication skills both written and oral;
• Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment;
• Able to travel.
