Job Summary

The Director, Business Development is a key role in the company’s business operation team and is responsible for identifying, assessing, and conducting diligence on collaboration with potential partners of clinical-grade viral vector manufacturing technical services. The role reports to CEO directly and works alongside with other technical operation leaders to assess technical relevance and financial viability of all potential business opportunities. This position will interface with appropriate personnel across corporate operation groups and external consultants.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the business development team to initiate and communicate the strategy of viral vector manufacturing technical service. Define the spaces of business collaborations and identify the potential customers and customer bases.

2 Conducts comprehensive review of opportunities identified or assigned. Interfaces with the technical groups to evaluate opportunities in sufficient depth to define the values, risks, technical feasibility of the deals. Prepare and conduct a formal proposal for each collaboration to the management team.

2 Participates in deal execution, facilitating interactions across all technical areas.

2 Strong ability to communicate effectively with leaders at the most senior levels within the corporation.

2 Ability to interface effectively with all levels and functions both inside and outside of the organization.

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in sciences or engineering. If applicable, MBA with focus on marketing, healthcare or finance.
• At least 10 years of prior experience in sale or business development roles in biotechnology or healthcare industry.
• Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in real time and exercise judgment in high-stakes environment.
• Ability to quickly establish credibility, trust and support with both internal and external constituents.
