Purpose

To provide a technical and design orientated service to clients and staff with a view to adding value in terms of architectural/civil/structural technique as well as increasing their technical understanding.

Responsibility

- In the capacity as architect, attend stage 1 workshops to truly understand clients’ project requirement and discuss over the architectural/civil/structural feasibility, work out design brief and drawing schedule to thoroughly reflect the requirement as well as develop into the stage 1 report to clients and the tendering document to contractors, assess the contractors and the tendering document based on Colliers PJM assessment criteria, review DI’s technical design;

- Act as the focal point during the stage 1 process ensuring smooth coordination with the client, Mechanical & Electrical Engineers, Quantity Surveyors and Stage 3 teams. Be responsible for resource expenditure and identify and notify the CTU head of any additional or abortive works. 

- Prepare and assist in the preparation of all aspects of stage 1 reports including design brief, drawing schedule, questionnaire, tender assessment report and technical design review report,  with particular emphasis on the architectural/civil/structural part;

- Provide general architectural/civil/structural engineering advice and support to Colliers PJM staff and clients as required;

- Provide and offer input and assistance as required and directed by central technical team head and other senior staff;

- Final wrap-up sessions with PM regarding architectural planning/design/finishing issues and lessons learned for incorporation into and improving of design process (optional)

- Occasional seminars on codes, specific design approaches, product systems, or general architectural continuing education required for licensing (optional)

 

Qualifications

- Minimum 8-10years of relevant experience with an international consultant or designer preferred. 

- Proven project experience with relevance to Industrial, logistics, office fit-out (higher focus on industrial, for example food and beverage sector).

- Minimum Bachelor degree in architecture.

- Good level of English speaking and writing required. 

- Proficient in AutoCAD and Sketchup required. Good knowledge of China Design Codes.

- A team player with strong interpersonal skills.

- Be able to communicate effectively with potential/current customers, project managers, and project team members.

- Ability to understand commercial impact for the Client of operational effectiveness, maintenance demands and progress delays.
