Job Purpose:  Providing technical solutions in customising and re-engineering Rotork's' current product portfolio, to support end markets in winning key strategic group projects

    Main Responsibilities:          

• Leadership and development of a team focused on winning significant strategic opportunities today, by translating knowledge to create solutions

• Implement engineering focused on creating solutions through rapid and flexible multi discipline problem solving, pulling from and customising the Rotork product portfolio

• Working closely with commercial and end market on major strategic opportunities where there is no appropriate offering from within our standard portfolio

• Providing cradle to grave technical support on key strategic or large value projects including any visits that may be required both in the UK and overseas.

• Guiding and supporting the advanced solutions team to ensure delivery of business objectives and plans on time and in budget.

• Working closely with operations and testing to practically build and test solutions

• Ensure appropriate adherence to high standards of quality, health and safety and risk management of customised solutions

• Working closely with other engineering pillars (NPD, PIE, R&I) to develop appropriate methodologies to support the handover or support of solutions as appropriate

• Working closely with other engineering locations to ensure global Rotork relationships

• Provide guidance to the wider business during the project selection and proposal processes

                        

Required skills and experience:  

• Degree level education or relevant experience, in an engineering or design discipline
• Proven design and engineering success of significant or strategic project working within a sales driven project
• Real world applications experience, both in exposure, collaboration and site implementation
• Secure, confident and resilient to change, lack of detail and direct or indirect criticism
• Experience liaising with, presenting too and working with high level customers and end users
• Proven experience in delivery of customised solutions within pressured timeframes and budget
• Broad engineering experience and ability in mechanical, electrical and mechatronic design and manufacture
• Experience in complete actuation and flow control solutions
• Significant practical and hands on experience either electrical or mechanical
• Knowledge of Rotork products and systems would be an advantage
• I.T and system literate
