Diodes Inc. is expanding its Audio portfolio and we are looking to add talented and self-motivated engineers to the Power Interface & Audio business unit. This is your opportunity to be part of a growing team that is developing next-generation of market-leading audio products.

This position is for an Applications Engineer that will support the development and implementation of Audio ICs. The application engineer will be responsible for evaluating our audio integrated circuits, creating evaluation modules and supporting customers with design and debug of our ICs.

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers and field engineers to support the design-in effort

• Work closely with the audio IC design team to evaluate and characterize new designs

• Analyze and generate data for datasheets and help define design specification

• Study trends and prepare reports detailing the market/competitor landscape

• Support failure analysis and related tasks

• Develop evaluation modules and demonstration platforms for our ICs

• Publish Applications Notes and User Guides to help internal and external customers

Required Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the semiconductor industry

• Comprehensive understanding of Audio Amplifiers including Class-D, Class-AB, Class-G and Class-H

• Expertise with PCB schematic and layout design tools

• Strong knowledge of component selection and understanding of issues related to noise and EMI/EMC

• Proficiency in power management systems including Buck, Boost and Buck-Boost DC-DC converters

• Solid hands-on experience with lab equipment, such as Audio Precision analysers, oscilloscopes, signal generators and spectrum analysers

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Fluency in English, verbal and written, is essential to work with our global team

• Self-motivated and driven with competent time management skills

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with FPGA/CPLD development platforms is a bonus

• Understanding of various industry interface standards such as I2C, I2S, USB and Bluetooth

• Experience with Digital input interface audio amplifiers
