Senior Project designer – Technology based Construction Management Team. 

We are seeking for a talented senior designer with extensive workplace design experiences. The successful candidate should have a ten year track record in leading all aspects of project delivery, managing a team, including taking leads in the brief development, concept, design development, tendering and construction information and oversight the execution of the project.

This role requires great organizational skills, excellent communication and a wilingness to learn new methodologies and apply them.

Applicants must

• Have both Chinese and English languages proficiency

• Have background in interior design with 10 experiences in all aspects of project delivery of workplace interiors. Preference will be given to candidates who have successfully lead large complex workplace projects.
• Be able to travel within China and possibly to other countries if required.

 

About this role:

The successful candidate will be senior member a new team within a large successful design, engineering and construction firm that specializes in workplaces and corporate campuses of all types. The role will require experience and skills in keeping the project organized and running well, co-developing the project targets and meeting them with the project teams.

The role will require new but easy to master technologies to lead projects with tools to communicate in 3d visualizations. Training will be provided. The new methodologies of working with others using virtual reality and 3d requires an openness to new ways of working that are more advanced than standard processes you may be used to.

 

What you’ll bring:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in interior workplace design and construction projects
• Strong skills in design development, construction detailing and presentation skillsets to present ideas.
• Experiences in managing people and tasks to meet objectives
• Leadership and proactive problem solver
• Skills in SketchUp are an important advantage but if you don’t have this you would need to learn rapidly. Please demonstrate your level of ability in your submission.
• Must be able to work well along with others in a highly collaborative, team environment
• Ability to prioritize and manage various tasks, responsibilities and commitments efficiently and simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Confident speaker.
• Willing to challenge and improve traditional way of working.  moving from traditional 2D design methods to a virtual 3D design solution
• Outgoing personality with positive can-do attitude
• Able to travel.

 

Preference will be given to candidates who:

• Have strong experience in workplace interior project design, management, construction and delivery
• Have experience worked in large-scale complex interior projects (e.g. greater than 20,000sqm interior design project)
• Have some skills in the use of sketchup
• Have strong team leadership skill
