JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Supplier Development Manager is focused on supporting strategic sourcing on effective and efficient buying to deliver the vision for SBD. This leadership role will be responsible for TCO (Total Cost Ownership) value creation and Delivery improvement for categories critical through a combination of productivity, working capital, synergies, reduced risk, improved supplier lead times, etc.
Reporting to the Supplier Development Senior Manager the individual will work with key stakeholders within the business to identify opportunities for supplier development, from new supplier’s introduction to performance development for low scoring vendors. This position will involve leading efforts on a global basis interacting with suppliers and colleagues across geographies and work cultures.
This position is based in Shanghai, China responsible for coaching and developing our supply base with professional skill (LEAN, Capacity Planning, Problem solving, Project Management) and foster innovation throughout the supply chain in alignment with SBU Global Procurement Strategies.
Specific Responsibilities
Support the Strategic Sourcing SBU category leaders in supplier selection and onboarding process (Audits, assessments, financial risk monitoring, innovation, final qualification / approval)
Actively support the creation for the Supplier Development strategies.
Perform supplier assessments for Quality and Delivery, coordinate finance and technical assessments with appropriate teams per project requirements.
Create and develop supplier training materials focusing on onboarding and performance improvements. For classroom and online training (Supplier University)
Provide training, mentoring and guidance to suppliers per Supplier Development strategy. DMAIC, 8D, A3, 5 Whys, FMEA, PPAP/SQA-015, REA, SC, etc.
Promote the use of DMAIC process to drive improvements at the Suppliers sites.
Drive Improvements identified per the Supplier KPI’s/scorecard. Able to lead Kaizens and supplier workshops.
Develop strategic suppliers to ensure high degree of service delivery and SBU satisfaction
Responsible for creation of TCO value and OTIF (On Time in Full) improvement to the organization through a combination of productivity, working capital, synergies, reduced risk, improved supplier lead times, etc.
Develop and foster strategic supplier collaboration that deliver cost reduction, supply continuity, quality improvement and innovation.
Institutionalize best-practice processes and policies and knowledge sharing across SBUs and ensure continuous improvement within the category.
Guarantee compliance with Strategic sourcing policies and procedures and DoA requirements
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum 5 years’ experience within Operation and Sourcing categories, either in finished products, machined components, equipment or electronics.
Familiar with supply planning process.
Experience providing classroom training
Provide training, mentoring and guidance to suppliers per Supplier Development strategy. DMAIC, 8D, A3, 5 Whys, FMEA, SMED, PPAP/SQA-015, REA, SC, etc.
Background experience within manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, supply chain management.
Successful track record of designing and implementing complex supply chain/operation improvement projects that achieved desired results
Global mindset with experience working in an international/multi-cultural matrix environment

Lean Six Sigma practitioner, Blackbelt certified (preferred) / Kaizen certification
English and Chinese
travel:
Must be willing to travel across Asia 20%-30%.
EDUCATION:
A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is required.
