Essential Functions:

Product Stewardship support to business:

• Conduct routine product launch review and raw material regulatory review for Engineering Materials (TPE, CE, Medical)

• Connect with R&D/TS&D focal points in the exploratory stage of new product development to alert regulatory issues that could arise later in the development cycle

• Respond customer enquiries

• Monitor and communicate regulations impacting business, industrial standards & restrictions for countries in Asia, especially on electronics application, medical and personal care applications

• Translate regulatory requirements into business obligations, and ensure compliance

External Relationships:

• Request, interpret and communicate technical information with suppliers, regulatory consultants and downstream users (customers)

• Represent Trinseo to join external meetings of industrial associations, track new emerging regulation or industrial standards

Communication:

• Communicate effectively with cross-functional, international teams. Work directly with Technical, sales, quality, supply-chain, and purchasing to ensure product compliance in business activities (new market, import and production of RM and products).

• Interpret and communicate product safety information to internal and external customers

• Support key business growth initiatives by identifying and addressing the potentical product safety risks

• Coordinate biocompatibility testing and risk reviews

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills:

• Bachelor or Master degree in Polymer, Materials, Chemistry, Toxicology or a related field
• 5 - 10 years of product stewardship, regulatory compliance, product safety experience in the chemical industry or related area.

• Demonstrated regulatory expertise on Chinese and APAC regulations such as chemical inventory, hazardous chemicals, GHS related regulations

• Excellent Communication Skills, could simply complex situations

• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills in English required

• Good decision making, problem solving and analytical skills

• Able to find practical solutions, set priorities, and work independently

• Technical knowledge of biocompatibility tests and medical devices regulations desired-nice to have (e.g ISO 10993)

• Technical knowledge of Thermoplastic Elastomers, Compounding resin, and food contact regulations desired – nice to have

• Experience on SAP EHS is desired
