Packaging Designer

Why we need you at Cultura!

Based in Shanghai, your role as packaging designer will be the key bridge between product management and marketing in France and China developing own brands packaging for Cultura through the entire packaging development cycle.

What will you be doing:

• Following graphic guidelines and the brand image of the 6 individual own brands, you will develop and create packaging working with design and translation agencies, printers and factories based in China.
• Confidently managing 5 to 7 agencies on a daily basis, (packaging design, translation, shooting, etc.) in Shanghai and Hong Kong with projects allocation, planning controls, creativity and price lists.
• Oversees the development of annually up to 2000 products’ packaging artworks developed in cooperation with product managers, buyers and quality specialists from artwork design to packaging printing.
• Accountable for your department budget.
• Ensure that process is efficient and optimized.
• In collaboration with design agencies and the marketing teams, advise on brands’ strategy and graphic charters.
• In conjunction with the Packaging Manager, you will follow the sustainable packaging programme to ensure the company will achieve the packaging and plastic reduction commitments and advise buyers and factories on die-cut and materials.
• Understanding of and inspired by European cultural trends, fashion, colours, etc.

What you need to do the job:

• Proficiency in both Mandarin and English (verbal and written), some knowledge of French will be desirable.
• Bachelors degree majoring in Graphic design with an interest in fiber based packaging design and manufacturing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software
• Advanced knowledge of design software: Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign.
• Photo shooting, video shooting and editing are considered preferable.
