Describe the purpose of this job and why it exists:

As part of technical people of DWS AP R&D, this position, under the direction of the Group Leader, exists to provide timely lab support for mainly reverse osmosis (RO) in China in the residential/home drinking water segment. Main focus is the testing of home drinking water RO elements and membrane.

The candidate is expected to:

-Be the equipment owner of a few residential element / membrane testing benches.

-Assist research professionals to execute research project.

-Perform routine preventative maintenance on the lab facilities.

-Carry out analytical testing according to standardized, published methods.

-Provide research professionals with quality data within specified timeline.

The primary responsibilities of the candidate include:

- Work with research engineer to build up and commission a few new home drinking RO element / membrane testing benches, including initial commissioning, SHE review, SOP setting up, etc.

- Assist research professionals to conduct experiment, collect data, and provide technical solution to relevant research projects.

- Maintain equipment in proper working condition, and ensure EHS compliance in laboratory. Constantly improve equipment based on the feedback of daily usage.

- Some level of understanding of the competitive environment.

- Could travel to External Manufacture partners, or Customer sites in the future on piloting trial / troubleshooting if the skill sets are qualified in the long term;

Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree of chemical engineering, polymer science, mechanical engineering, etc, but not limited to.
• At least 3+ years of experience in lab equipment operation (mid to large scale equipment)
• Fluent in English with good written skills at least, while spoken skill is an add.
• Motivated, independent and responsible person with teamwork spirit is preferred.
• Effectively/Frequently communicates with equipment suppliers, raw material suppliers, maintenance engineers.
• Communicates and appropriately documents work in the form of internal reports.

The Dow Chemical Company and DuPont have announced their intent to combine in an all-stock merger of equals. The merger is expected to take place in the third quarter of 2017 and the new company will be named DowDuPont. Within 18-24 months of the merger, DowDuPont intends to spinoff entities resulting in three separate and independent publicly traded companies, subject to regulatory and board approval. At the time of the spin, employees will be moved to one of the three companies.
