Scope of Work: Purchasing assistant assisting the Supply Chain Leader responsible to perform routine procurement tasks assigned

Main Purpose of the Job:

1. Purchasing Assistant will research new vendors, tracking deliveries and updating order records (dates, invoices and discounts)
2. Assist the Senior Purchaser in making decisions about the purchases to make, handle administrative paperwork related to vendors and PO placement
3. Support logistic functions with vendors and good delivery process

Job Description:

1. Issue purchase orders to suppliers, distributors and manufacturers
2. Ensure that orders received are accurate, goods received are not damaged & Handle goods through purchasing process
3. Work closely with relevant departments to ensure products purchased are in line with the needs of the company
4. Keep accurate records of purchases made and follow up PO sequence until delivery
5. Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices
6. Prepare periodic reports for Supply Chain Leader including status of POs, variance/change claims, schedules and any other tasks assigned
7. Attend meetings with engineering and other parties concerned when required in order to review schedule status and progress of works.

Skills:

1. Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
2. Experience working as a purchasing assistant in the industry is preferred
3. Strong attention to detail, organize and prioritize, and on-time completion
4. Fluent in English (Written and Spoken)
5. Be innovative and creative, resolve issues effectively and clearly communicate decisions and develop and maintain good team atmosphere.
6. Flexible to travel to meet with suppliers, distributors and manufacturers as required
7. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ERP systems (Navision & SAP)”
