ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Conduct lownoise electrical measurements of novel semiconductor devices at cryogenic temperatures that harness quantum effects.

Develop measurement system and test procedures; use cryogenic test system; develop software for device testing; analyze samples

using automated data acquisition equipment; and organize, update, and summarize measurement results.

Requires frequent technical communication with team members, including oral and written reporting.

EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

• Development of automated semiconductor data acquisition;
• Use of computer software for data storage, organization, and analysis;
• Reporting and documentation of test results;
• Cryogenic test equipment.

KNOWLEDGE DESIRED:

• Basic principles of lownoise, electrical measurement; basic electronic design and analysis;
• Semiconductor device physics;
• Basic computer skills (spreadsheets, presentations, word processing, and scientific programming);
• Statistical analysis;
• Basics of coding, though specific language less important.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to climb ladders to use elevated test equipment.
• Must be able to work safely in a laboratory environment.

EDUCATION DESIRED:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, applied physics, or related field;
• Or 3 years of relevant experience in semiconductor device testing field.
