The China Technical Centre in Shanghai (China) is a main research, product development and customer support centre for DuPont Transportation and Industrial business. Scientists, engineers and technicians meet new technical challenges every day - from research & development to plant scale-up to operations to marketing - in a constant drive for quality, efficiency, and customer service. The Research Centre provides consultancy to manufacturers in the automotive, appliance, electronics, filtration, sporting goods and consumer products industries.

who would be located in the China Technical Center and who’s main responsibilities will be to:

·         Lead and implement new product development projects including overall project planning, product design & development, data analysis, pilot trials, patent filling and product launch, with specific focus on new applications and opportunities related to growth in electrical and electronics components

·         Innovative method and formulation development

·         Work with customer accounts, technology team and sales team to conduct new product promotion and launch

·         Identify, assess and develop new scientific concepts and/or technologies and/or products to provide solutions to identified problems, in close collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders.

·         Manage scientific, technical, or information projects, coordinating with other professionals, such as manufacturing, marketing, sales, and support personnel to accomplish specific project objectives.

·         Be an active member of a global R&D community, participating to all core values programs and related activities.

Profile:

·         Required: Ph.D. in organic chemistry, polymer science or related disciplines

·         Experience in or good understanding of polymer related fields like processing, rheology, physical testing, structure property relationships, additives

·         Expertise in dielectric properties of materials, flame retardance, industrial experience in the field of polymer science or formulation development would be a plus

·         Open, innovative mind set

·         Good interpersonal skills to work in a diverse, multi-functional, multi-national team

·         Proactivity and self-initiative to manage priorities with minimal supervision

·         Fluent in written and spoken English. Other languages would be a plus.

The Dow Chemical Company and DuPont have announced their intent to combine in an all-stock merger of equals. The merger is expected to take place in the third quarter of 2017 and the new company will be named DowDuPont. Within 18-24 months of the merger, DowDuPont intends to spinoff entities resulting in three separate and independent publicly traded companies, subject to regulatory and board approval. At the time of the spin, employees will be moved to one of the three companies.
