Position: Senior Merchandiser

Key Responsibilities

Development (25%):

    

1. Work with the factories on development, offer alternative solutions to Merchant/Design team that will meet the price target for the product while keeping the aesthetics quality standards of the product.

    

2. Evaluate and resolve technical feasibility, design optimization, and production issues during the development stage.

    

3. Assess market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products based on what is found in factories.

    

4. Be pro-active with sample processes to assure on time approvals and on time deliveries.

    

5. Assist compliance team to ensure suppliers adhere to or exceed Exxel compliance standards and requirements.

    

6. Accompany US team to suppliers when needed.

    

Sourcing (30%):

    

7. Execute the implementation within the supply base ensuring factory capabilities meet the future needs of our brands.

    

8. Manage supplier relationships and ensure they are professional, transparent, and committed to Exxel's brands.      Maintain jointly successful business relationships.

    

9. Analyze factories quotation and negotiate to meet company’s sourcing target

    

10. Help with fabric and trim sourcing when necessary

    

Production (25%):

    

11. Work with relative parties to assure production meets the target cost structure, testing parameters and product requirements of the Exxel brands.

    

12. Maintain production capacity planning information to assure success with factory loading.

    

13. Monitor and follow-up the entire order process to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

    

14. Update weekly WIP report and track bulk production progress with vendors

    

15. Partner with QIT team to resolve and correct quality issues in a successful and timely manner.

    

Others (20%):

    

16. Establish and maintain business relations with primary and backup factories. Explore new vendors based on company's sourcing requirement

    

17. Conduct visits to factories. Attend in-line and final inspection at factory as needed.

    

18. Gain working knowledge of Exxel systems, be sensitive of any industry news related to the work

        

19. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Grow with company, be supportive to any new categories with the expansion of the company business.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Related experience with assigned categories for at least 10 years.

2. Experience in working with global partners is required.

3. Ability to travel domestically or internationally as business requires.

4. Must be a team player, fast leaner, positive attitude at work is a plus

5. Solid PC skills including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications

1. College or University degree is preferred.

2. Minimum 10 years of experience in outdoor and sourcing across multiple countries of origin at similar level.

3.  Fluent in English and Mandarin.

4. Self-motivated and detail orientated.
