The Ethernet Products Group (EPG) Customer Solutions Organization (ECS) is looking for an experienced hardware engineer who loves to debug and wants to work closely with Intel customers and SOC partner organizations. This is a highly technical engineering support role. In this role, you'll be accountable for providing world class design enablement and customer issue support to EPG customers in cloud, communications, wireless, and base station markets. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills who can understand, explain, and solve problems collaboratively with customers and internal SOC partner groups. This position requires networking and ethernet knowledge as well as hardware (PCB, SOC, high speed links) design, debug, and support experience.

What you'll be doing:
？ Triage, reproduce, debug, root cause, and deliver solutions for customer issues at the platform level related to or directly resulting from EPG product and IP on Intel Xeon/Atom-based SOCs.
？ Engage in customer design enablement on SOC platforms with a HW emphasis.
？ Partner with SOC platform customer support team members for efficient, coordinated issue resolution.
？ Communicate with SOC partners and customers to articulate issue status, next steps, and engagement needed.
？ Use engineering problem solving processes to lead logical, fruitful reproduction, debug, and root cause identification efforts.
？ Occasionally work in task force mode and lead visible, cross-functional issue resolution efforts in response to a customer escalation.
？ Hands on in the lab to evaluate signal integrity health, instrument platform for debug access, update/change FW/NVM/SW ingredients as part of debug steps.
？ Contribute to design guides, application notes, datasheets and other supporting technical collateral.
？ May support some beyond POR customization enabling as in NVM, HW design etc.
？ Advocates key customers customization request to backend teams through internal process.

You are a competitive candidate for this job if you possess these skills and competencies:
？ Comfort working in a lab environment with server platform hardware, debug instruments, and debug software tools.
？ Ethernet link, PHY, Cable, Switch knowledge.
？ Familiarity with IEEE802.3 standard, TCP/IP, PCI-SIG Spec, DMTF spec., 10/25/40/50/100G Ethernet, MAC/PHY architecture.
？ Good experience in design of high-speed as PCIe, XAUI, SERDES, KX, KR, SFI, proficient in Cadence EDA tools, good understanding of signal integrity, HSPICE simulation, and ESD, EMI and EMC etc.
？ Bit Error Rate (BER) and link quality debug experience.
？ Familiarity with how to set-up and use a PCIE analyzer, Lauterbach debug probe, high speed o-scope, logic analyzer
？ Familiarity with customer reference boards (CRBs) for relatively current Intel Xeon/Atom-based SOC product
？ Familiarity with Intel Ethernet Products Group products.
？ Basic understanding of BIOS, Linux*kernel driver, Windows* driver, shell, script.
？ Basic understanding of FPGA development.
？ Love of debug, a dynamic work environment, and proximity to customers.
？ Naturally curious and driven to understand why.
？ Excellent partnership and human interface capabilities.
？ Good judgement, tolerates ambiguity, professionalism, ability to leverage and work with Intel field teams.
？ Ability to travel once business travel returns to normal

？ BS or higher in EE, CE or Systems Engineering or equivalent work experience.
？ 5 -7 years of relevant experience.
？ Strong analytical skills including past experience in printed circuit board design and review and/or SOC design and post-si electrical validation and debug.
？ Professional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to adjust communication to align to the technical ability of the audience.
？ An innate capability to accurately and succinctly communicate procedures, results, and recommendations to customers and peers.
？ Experience with common reproduction and debug lab tools such as high-speed oscilloscope and bus analyzers.
