Job Responsibilities:

  

• Analyze customer and internal requirements and specifications and translates these into software designs.

• Develop following HARMAN software processes and object-oriented and embedded software industry best practices.

• Analyze existing embedded software to add features, make modifications, fix bugs, and/or port to different platforms.

• Test software designs and codes at the unit and system level to insure that all requirements are met and the highest software quality is achieved.

• Coordinate software development activities with the software team leader.

• Perform code reviews and other activities to ensure high-quality results.

• Creative problem-solver capable of reproducing and fixing complex software defects.

• Execute unit tests and provide documentation for software modules.

                

Basic Qualifications:

  

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree on Computer Science, Engineering or related technical major, or equivalent working experience is required.  

• 3+ years of experience in object-oriented software design (5+ years for senior position)

• 2+ years of experience in navigation engine development in C++/C (5+ years for senior position)

• Experience in LINUX, QNX or Android OS

• Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written  

• A team player working well with geographically distributed and cross-functional teams

• Experience with developing and debugging object-oriented software in a real-time, embedded, multi-processor, multi-interface environment is a plus

• Experience with map data model and navigation software development  is a plus

• Experience on navigation algorithm (e.g. route calculation, guidance, POI search) is a plus

• Experience with  development tools (e.g. Perforce, SVN, Git, Jenkins, MS Visual Studio, Makefile, Doxygen, CPPUnits, Python, etc.) is a plus

• Relational DB knowledge (e.g. MySQL, SQLite) is a plus

• Experience with Agile development practice such as Scrum/Kanban, test-driven development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Pairing, etc. is highly preferred
