Core purpose

The Head of Pastoral Care has primary responsibility for the provision of pastoral care and is also the designated safeguarding person within the school. She/he focuses on student wellbeing, development and behavior management, with line management responsibility for Year Leaders and Form Tutors, School Counsellors, and Boarding.

Major responsibilities

Leadership and management of UCS pastoral system

·         Enhance excellence through a systematic approach to reviewing, planning and evaluation of the pastoral system.

·         Develop a cycle of self-evaluation to ensure consultation, including surveys of students, parents and staff, and is at the heart of Pastoral Development Plans

·         Ensure a visible and active presence during the school day and in boarding houses in order to establish pastoral relationships with the students.

·         Responsible for ensuring all pastoral positions in the school are fully staffed.

 

Leadership and management of Boarding

·         Embed excellence through a systematic approach to the reviewing, planning and evaluation of the boarding provision.

·         Develop the cycle of boarding self-evaluation to ensure consultation, including surveys of students, parents and staff, and is at the heart of Boarding Development Plans.

·         Ensure boarding is integrated into the work and life of the whole school.

 

Monitoring, evaluation and implementation of UCS pastoral and boarding policies.

·         Monitor, evaluate, implement and publish as required, UCS pastoral and boarding policies and best practice in line with Minors’ protection Law of the People’s Republic of China, Anti-domestic Violence Law of the People’s Republic of China and guidance from CIS.

·         Responsible for pastoral preparation for CIS inspections, keeping all staff informed of inspection requirements.

·         Responsibility for the health and safety of students in day and boarding settings.

·         Minimum 3 years’ pastoral experience; house-system experience will be advantageous

·         Proven ability to work cooperatively and effectively with students, colleagues, and parents, including the ability to create and nurture a supportive pastoral community

·         Bilingual with demonstrated expertise in oral and written communication

5. 领科教育上海校区
    领科教育上海校区位于松江区涞亭南路559号，总占地100亩，现拥有在校生近1000名，及150多名中外员工。领科教育上海校区也是国内为数不多的同校区同时运营IGCSE、ALevel及IBDP三大国际课程的学校。
    在体育活动方面，学校拥有8跑道400米标准塑胶运动场，标准足球场，攀岩设施、大型综合体育馆、500多平米的大型多功能会场、6个室外篮球场、1个室内篮球场和英式篮球场。
    在教学设施方面，学校拥有符合国际标准的5个化学、4个物理及2个生物实验室，2个网络远程教室、2间美术写生教室，以及专业舞蹈房，音乐室，戏剧表演室及图书馆。
