  Mission of the role  

The mission of the IT Support Officer is to provide the technical IT support for end-users on-site and remote and be the reference for implementation of local value-added projects that require first-hand involvement from IT. The ideal candidate should possess extensive knowledge of network mantainence and advanced industry knowledge to keep us on the cutting edge. The ideal candidate will have immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of our IT operations and an ongoing impact on our overall growth in Asia Pacific.

  

 

  Reporting Line  

The IT Support Officer will report directly to the Asia-Pacific Regional IT Manager.

  

 

  Main accountabilities  

The IT Support Officer ensures the following accountabilities:

    

  • Ensure the availability of a front-office for IT support activities during the agreed business hours
  •   
  • Ensure overall service quality and service levels can be measured by making sure a ticket of every support intervention is available and up-to-date
  •   
  • Supports the Regional IT Manager in major IT projects, including but not limited to system updates/upgrades, office moves, server migrations, infrastructure improvements
  •   
  • Supports the Regional IT Manager in value-added business projects
  •   
  • Actively supports the Regional IT Manager:
  •   


    • Front-office activities (call, chat, …) including analysis, resolution and clear communication to end-users
    • Deliver technical support for all endpoint equipment and on-premise services (e.g. deployment of new desktops/laptops, troubleshoot network connectivity issues)
    • Investigate and analyse correlation between individual issues in order to assure correct urgency, impact and associated coordination is established
    • Troubleshoot complex issues prior to handover to 3rd line support

      

  • Proactively develop and promote end-user documentation or self-service options towards end-users

  • Supports the Regional IT Manager in developing and implementing best practice guides for the Asia-Pacific region

    We are looking for a proactive individual who is ready to work in an international rapidly changing and challenging environment, one who is passionate about IT, with the following experience, educational background and interpersonal skills:

      

    • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Technology or Computer Science
    • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in IT support/management
    • Strong organisation skills and are able to work autonomously
    • Customer oriented with a problem-solving attitude
    • Excellent stakeholders management capabilities
    • Excellent communication skills towards end-users

        

  • Strong sense of ownership and drive (problem solver, self-starter with a bias for prompt action and removing roadblocks, accountable to get things done in a timely manner)
  •   
  • Experience working with
  •   


    • Microsoft operating systems (Windows 10, Windows Server 2012 R2 and later)
    • (Azure) Active Directory
    • Microsoft Exchange (Online) – configuration/administration
    • Office/Microsoft 365 (administration)

      

  • Experience with procurement/deployment/management/troubleshooting of end-user hardware (laptop / desktop / multifunction printer-scanner)
  •   
  • Experience with installation/configuration/troubleshooting of network connections/communication equipment (router, switch, access point) and services (firewall, VPN, internet, WiFi, telephony)
  •   
  • Affinity with supporting business processes
  •   
  • Experience in IT merger integration is a plus
  •   
  • Comfortable working in an international environment
  •   
  • Excellent proficiency in English, both written and verbal
  •
