Position Title: IP Counsel - Patents & Copyrights
Division: CEO Division
Location: Beijing
Position Description:
Volkswagen (China) Investment Co. Ltd. is Volkswagen Group China’s regional headquarters.
As a member of the Legal Department of Volkswagen Group China in Beijing, the IP Counsel position is responsible for:
- Evaluations/interpretations of IP laws and regulations/standards;
- Monitoring of legal framework and requirements in Region China;
- Innovation mining;
- Evaluation of innovations and management of resulting patents prosecutions and registrations
- Copyright recordals, particularly for software products
- IP agreements, e.g. license agreements and delimitation agreements
- Product/services development/business cooperation with third parties involving the collection/handling of IP
Position Requirements:
- Master in IT or ICT engineering or similar technical education, preferably with overseas studies
- 5+ years professional experience in patent work in Patent Office/a leading IP agency/law firm or a multinational company in China
- Familiar with relevant players in Chinese patent community
- Patent bar exam (China or similar)
- Excellent English and native Mandarin language skills, both oral and written
- Mature and confident, with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently, under pressure with commitment to tasks
- Strong team-player
