Position Summary

The Data Services intern will research on the standards, frameworks/software, and trends to facilitate and enhance data discovery, access, storage and management at the library. The intern is expected to work with the data services manager and compile a report towards the end of the internship.

Other duties include responding to ad hoc requests as assigned.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

Required Education

●       Bachelor’s degree required.

●       Master’s degree in Information Science, Library Science, or a related field preferred.

Required Experience

●       Experience of comprehensive literature review and secondary research.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

●       Strong service orientation and willingness to learn new systems and approaches and adapt to changes quickly.

●       Interests in data management in research and data lifecycle preferred.

●       Proficiency in both English and Mandarin preferred.

●       Knowledge of Ruby on Rails and database architecture is a plus.
