Responsibility Summary

? Responsible for proactively assuring that merchandise meets or exceeds Qurate quality standards.

? Execute various activities within the product specification validation and item approval process. These activities may include, but are not limited to:

Review and documentation of product packaging, validation of product attributes & specifications, coordination and monitoring of sample flow, complete and accurate documentation of review findings and reporting of results

? Support merchandising team as product quality, fit, product safety, and compliance subject matter expert

Key Accountabilities

Product Validation & Approval(60%)

? Receive and evaluate product samples and/or information against documented specifications and quality requirements, communicate results and required corrective actions in a timely and professional manner

? Verify applicable industry, regulatory compliance and company requirements to the evaluation of products in an unbiased manner

? Validate the claimed features and benefits for products, including the review, understanding and interpretation of technical documentation

? Evaluate and determine appropriate packaging for product integrity as needed

? Review and assess products for appropriate fit and sizing for US market.

? Ability to identify products in violation of US intellectual property laws

? Manage product sample flow into and out of the QA process

Technical Guidance & Education(20%)

? Provide technical support, guidance, and coaching to vendors and merchants on;

QA requirements and processes

US product safety and regulatory compliance requirements

Fit and sizing for US market

Vendor Quality and Compliance Management(20%)

? Complete accurate, detailed QA evaluation reports while simultaneously issuing final Product Approvals into the Market(s) and provide the China QA team with Product Specs and Evaluation Documents for Factory Process Audits

? Work with vendor to resolve any product quality issues identified during product review or factory QA inspections

? Interact as liaison between factories and Testing Labs to ensure factories submits for proper testing and samples.

Critical Skills/Knowledge

? Knowledge and ability to test consumer products in line with quality requirements that are commonly accepted as industry standards.

? Problem solving ability, in terms of detecting root causes and problems prevention.

? Basic knowledge of consumer product regulatory requirements within appropriate markets (US/EU)

? Working knowledge of quality requirements, fundamentals, tools and processes.

? Demonstrated critical thinking skills to quickly make concise, logical decisions

? Ability to create, understand and interpret technical documents

? Ability to prioritize and work with limited supervision to meet deadlines and achieve desired results

? Ability to perform detailed work with a methodical approach

? Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with tact and diplomacy

? Fluent in English and Mandarin

? Working knowledge in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and the Internet

Minimum Education:

? Technical certification or college degree in a pertinent product or technical area required

? Relevant experience may be substituted for a portion of the education requirement

Preferred Education:

? Accreditation as a quality professional is desired

Minimum Experience:

? 5+ years of experience working in a Quality or Technical environment, and proven understanding of the relation between the customer experience and key product features

? Experience following and applying quality standards in the testing of product with a proven understanding of the relationship between the key product features and the customer experience

Preferred Experience:

? QA or Product Development in the Retail or Consumer Product industries, ideally in hard goods and apparel goods
