Position Overview

You'll take the role of product engineer that relate to Stainless Steel/Plastic new product & manufacturing process development. Ensure all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives. Utilizes best practice engineering methods and provides expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives. Incorporates components, materials, and tools that result in cost-effective and quality output. Support supplier LEAN development and process optimization.

Responsibilities

1. Execute the engineering agenda for the category in cooperation with US ID and Design engineer, New product development bridge between US Engineering team and supply base factories
2. Join in New Stainless Steel and Plastic hard goods product development, release design documentation, unit's 3D design and 2D drawings checking, product test plan define, design risk review and assessment , off-tooling product checking and improvement suggestion to factory, Engineering Inspection Report draft and approve based on supplier test results, create and finalize product BOM
3. Support the new product pre-production trial run for trouble shooting and review on the shop floor for control plan and SOP execution
4. Set up and follow up project plan and lead the team to achieve the target. Accountable for meeting team timelines, project quality and innovation efforts
5. Develop and define new process and production layout for manufacturing and components assembly to meet quality target and improve manufacturing cycle time
6. Follow up the industrialization of new projects, manufacturing and trials of new machines and process for our Chinese factory
7. Attend the technical review with the supplier and internal colleague to make sure the process proposed will be efficient, he will propose the corrective action to improve machines & process reliability and performance, elevate factory LEAN production capability
8. Build the process with a rigorous documentation and procedure, lead issue analysis on process, product and mold
9. Drive the coordination between China Engineer Team and other function team, focusing on technical alignment with factories 

Proficiencies

1. Bachelor's degree or above, major in mechanical engineering or tooling design and manufacturing related.
2. 5+ years of experience in metal & plastic new product development , new process and automatic assembly line development. An excellent Mechanical Engineering specialist in machines & equipment and manufacturing process for metal and plastic industry, used to define new process and production layout for manufacturing and components assembly
3. Strong process-wise thinking and logical analytical capability
4. Good knowledge in complex assembly machines (good automation knowledge & metal, plastic industry equipment)
5. Good knowledge of Six sigma methodology and tools (DFSS, DMAIC, DOE, Value Stream Mapping, Risk Assessment)
6. Good knowledge of LEAN manufacturing and tools
7. Experience in project management and very familiar with project process , Skilled at prioritizing tasks and managing timelines
8. Expert with Solidworks , AutoCAD and other professional software
9. Strong verbal, written and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally
10. Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail
11. Habit of taking the initiative and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
12. Respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Others

1. The position requires frequent travelling to suppliers and OEM partners in China and occasional travelling to the US headquarters
2. LEAN and six sigma green belt is highly preferred
3. Working experience in MNC with a matrix working environment in which dealing with the stakeholders of local and overseas would be preferred
