SUMMARY: The ideal candidate will provide technical support to customers to ensure that the correct product is chosen for their applications. The ability to run tests in our own lab and at the customer site, collect and analyze data, and present results that justify the purchase of an instrument is critical. This position will work closely with our Sales Team to add value for the customer and increase revenue.

Our company depends on team efforts to accomplish our goals, thus the ability to travel and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers is paramount. Information collected from customer visits regarding new product features, performance, applications and competitors will be documented and distributed to management.

Essential Job Functions – Responsibilities

· Independently perform product demonstrations and sample testing

· Assist with product application presentations, white papers, and documentation

· Identify and suggest products specific to customer needs

· Assist Engineering in the analysis of customer product failures, the generation of the related failure reports and communication of failure analysis and recommendations to the customer

· Maintain communications and contacts to collect and analyze operational and technical information for the product line

Education – Experience – Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree required in Polymer Science, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering preferred - Master degree or PhD welcome

· Travel required up to 35% domestic and international - must have and maintain passport

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

· Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

· Ability to track and analyze product performance through the use of relational database and/or spreadsheet software (i.e. MS Excel). Ability to generate effective product application training and informational materials through the use of documentation and presentation software (i.e. MS Word and MS PowerPoint).
