KEY FUNCTION

The responsibilities of a Product Developer include conducting market research, collaborating with Design (HQ / HK), suppliers, local mills, local Team to support Fabric Strategy / Light file / BIT / picking / Local Delegation process. Focus on Top of the pyramid product development.

To be successful as a Product Developer, you should have an International product development background, strong fashion sense & product design knowledge but also solid Technical background in regard to Fabrics & Production (knowledge of the prototype development process).

The Product Developer works autonomously and consistently analyzes, cultivates & drives their business forward. This role is a blended strategic and tactical function with strong ability to problem solving.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

• Work Closely with French & HK Designer Teams to understand Kiabi & B2B customer needs by attending all design brief meetings kick off and following their Go to Market Calendars.

• Develop strong partnership with Suppliers Teams (design / Merchandisers / Technicians) to ensure a smooth product development process & product rightness.

• Visit supplier showroom in regular basis to provide creative input to collection (New Fabrics, Accessories, products) & support Web offer.

• Support the fabric strategy locally

• Drive fabric selection / product construction to achieve customer price point and preserve product rightness.

• Review samples for accuracy with Design prior to handing garments to Technical Team for the fitting. Possibility to attends fitting in direct with suppliers Tech Team to support agile web offer.

• Support Local team regarding Local delegation by developing their customer eyes (product sensibility). This role may be asked to help train other team members on best practices.

• Identify opportunities to improve the Development process and makes suggestions to continuously improve season after season.

EXPERIENCE, TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

• Minimum 4 years relevant working experience in Product Development or related field

• Proficient using Design software (2D / 3D)

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

• Bachelor's Degree in Fashion or industrial design with International exposure
