A career in Data Engineer Team, will provide you with the opportunity to support our core business functions by deploying applications that enable our people to work more efficiently and deliver the highest levels of service to our clients. You’ll focus on managing the design and implementation of technology infrastructure, developing and enhancing both client and internal facing applications, and providing technology tools that help create a competitive advantage to drive strategic business growth.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Work with developers to optimize queries, stored procedure and database design

- Troubleshoots and resolves performance-related issues for Postgres plus Advanced Server, Oracle servers

- Work with Architects Engineers on database design and implementation enhancements

- Provides technical and operational database administration. Installs, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security, availability and integrity of the company databases and large data warehouse database environments

- Provides analysis and definitions of technical standards related to database resources

- Provides analysis and design function for new and existing systems

- Provide support resolving conversion and upgrade data issues. Liaise with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers for the definition and clarification of requirements and to facilitate the progress on project tasks

- Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

- Bachelor (or higher) in in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering

- Strong technical and software architecture design ability

- Solid knowledge and experiences of software engineering methodology such as Product Life Cycle or SEI CMM is a must

- Much experience as database developer on Oracle servers

- Very good knowledge of SQL scripts including Stored Procedures, PSQL scripting, SQL Monitoring tools and Performance monitoring and tuning

- Experience on big data engineering with Apache Spark (PySpark) development

- Hands-on coding on Python programming language

- Strong SQL skills to process large sets of data

- Have strong knowledge on Design Patterns used in Big Data

- Good understanding of Database / Data warehousing concepts

- Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve live database systems issues

- Knowledge of Disaster Recovery principles and practices including planning, testing, backup / restore

- Practical experience in managing the internal and external database security

- Knowledge and experience in qualifying, staging and deploying of specialized software pieces into a complex production hosting center

- Good to have exposure to NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra etc.

- Good to have scripting knowledge (WS script, PowerShell, DOS and Batch scripts)

- Possesses a combination of creative abilities and business knowledge

- Possesses a strong sense of personal responsibility, self-discipline, academic ability and critical thinking

- Excellent communication and presentation skills

- Fluent English and Chinese
