VON ARDENNE needs a capable, motivated Purchase Engineer for our local Purchasing department, where you are mainly responsible for all purchasing activities based in China. The successful candidate of this position is reporting to Purchasing Manager and he/she brings in deep knowledge of the domestic market-environments and the supplier base for mechanical components. Driving down costs and developing a performing, high quality supply chain base are in the key focus of the Purchasing Engineer.

  

YOUR TASKS

• Responsible for all local purchasing activities according to the VON ARDENNE purchasing processes;

• Ensuring alignment with VON ARDENNE purchasing strategies, guidelines and targets;

• Owner of purchasing projects from the beginning to the end; 

• Participating in core teams incl. engineering, SQE, production or other related persons in the scope of the purchasing project;

• Responsible for the management of supplier orders, contracts and negotiations with suppliers and for the quality assurance of deliveries;

• Making sure that the sourcing for customer projects runs in time, at expected quality and cost;

• Conducting supplier qualification as well as driving continuous supplier development and relationship management;

• Monitoring the supplier performance and tracking results with appropriate KPI’s;

• Responsibility to ensure compliance with agreed terms and deadlines.

YOUR PROFILE

• Bachelor or bachelor equivalent degree in a mechanical engineering or business economics related field of study;

• Preferred is to have a minimum of 2 years design engineering in vacuum equipment or components or a similar working experience;

• Good knowledge of Chinese suppliers in machinery industries is required;

• Very good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to negotiate with suppliers and other business partners;

• Be able to handle complex and tough supplier quality or timing issues;

• Be familiar with new supplier qualification process;

• Being able organize the sourcing project and plan resource of engineering, SQE, production for support;

• Being pro-active, quality first awareness and customer oriented;

• Very good command of spoken and written English is mandatory for this position;

• Considering travelling as intrinsic part of your job;

• Establishing and maintaining an excellent corporate image of VON ARDENNE;

• Can handle the work under stressful situations.
