Job description

The Technical Assistant will provide both technical and administrative support for the internal team and external clients.

The person must have a mechanical technical background, preferably experienced in the metal casting and machining field, and with a good command of English.

He/she will work primarily with the technical department, but also with the sourcing and purchasing departments.

The assistant will help to transfer the technical information acquired from the production site to the other departments in China and abroad, keep the database up to date and assist the sourcing and purchasing departments on technical-related matters.

 

Main tasks

• Technical back-office：maintaining accurate digital records in the form of databases, spreadsheets or key technical files via set automated systems
  

• Production planning：coordinate the quality inspection arrangements   
  

• Commercial assistance：verify the design specifications of any new product development，verify the new orders’technical demands

 

Skills and responsibilities

• Communication：able to promptly communicate with colleagues and clients from all levels of a business and field about inquiries on technical issues relating to a product or service.
  

• Organization：able to keep the various databases up to date. 
  

• Attentive to details：able to carefully check the technical production drawings to guarantee that they are the most up to date. 
  

• Problem solving and problem finding：able to see potential problems of a new project or production.
  

• Team work：connecting with various departments. Expected to have a broad knowledge of the operations of various departments and how these may conflict with one another.

 

Requirements

• Mechanical engineering degree
• Similar previous working experience in a technical related field
• Excellent understanding of technical drawings and related software
• Fluent English - spoken and written
• Willing to travel if necessary
