Job Responsibilities
-Represent BD&L in GI AH Chinese leadership team
-Work in close relationship with Head of BD&L, Head of Strategic Partnering and other BD&L leaders
-Create Asia/China BD&L external innovation strategy aligned with Global Innovation goals and Global BD&L Team leads.
-Create visibility agenda
-Set priorities for external opportunities

-Scouting and selection of external targets:

-Scout for external targets that meet the global BIAH strategy and project priorities of Global Innovation, our Business Partners and Corporte business strategy and other strategic initiatives.
-Develop strategic analyses together with Global Business Intelligence: based on market trends analysis and competitive analysis, propose external growth plans for core business and adjacent business; anticipate industry and competitor moves, with a particular focus on our Business Partners’ area of the Business.
-Contribute to the BD&L plans for our Business Partners. The incumbent will help building and will continuously update its external target lists (Business Development plan) and support the Head of Strategic Partnering, Global Head of BD&L, and Head of Global Innovation in prioritizing the targets in line with BI AH strategy
-Lead Business Development (in-licensing, out-licensing, distribution, M&A) projects from first contacts with the Third Party to final negotiation and contract signature.
-Lead & coordinate cross-functional teams internally (e.g. with Business segments Global Strategic Marketing, Global Commercial Busines, AH Innovation Division, Operations,Legal, IP, Procurement) and global projects involving third parties.
-Ensure key deliverables are completed on-time, in line with the project charter.
-Provide guidance and support to the Global Heads of AH functions regarding the management of global/regional/local (External Innovation) Business Development projects.
-Communicate internally on the project progress and issues, including to governance bodies such as BD&L Committee (BDC) and the Portfolio Steering Committee (PSC).
-Negotiate commercial concepts and terms & conditions with the external partner. For complex deals work closely with the Team Transactions from Global BD&L.
Independently driving negotiations, making reasoned decisions and bringing contracts to execution. Initiate and develop term sheets for the anticipated partnerships, with a long-term perspective.
