Job Title:    Production Engineer                               

Immediate Supervisor: PE & FCA Manager   

Job Summary

Ensure that world’s class level engineering and technical competence, processes and tools are available in the production for existing and new products. In terms of production engineering issues, Production Engineer is responsible for production development and production engineering of products to assure good product process and assembly while maintaining the high quality and cost standards in line with the company’s strategies. He should finish all related work for the company in a timely manner. Preparation, setup, control, monitoring, trouble shooting and support maintenance of production equipment in MAU Shanghai. Set up project for continue improvement of current equipment and process.

Responsibilities

 1.       Provide engineering support to existing products in the areas of processes, maintenance, tools and testing;

    

2.       Work with other teams and supplier on process and equipment design and acceptance;

    

3.       Preparation, setup, control, monitoring, trouble shooting and support maintenance of production equipment;

    

4.       Responsibility for project business and customizing for “one-off” solutions for specific projects based on customer requirements;

    

5.       Propose minor design changes to R&D based on feedback from production, suppliers or customers;

    

6.       Make sure product documentation is correct, up-to date and available for the logistics, production and quality functions in MAU Shanghai;

    

7.       Identifies and develops production tools and methods for new products;

    

8.       Set up project for continue improvement of current equipment and process;

    

9.       Measures standard hours and takt time for cost calculations and improvements;

    

10.    Responsible for the receiving part of New Product Introduction (NPI) projects using resources on a project base from other functions as necessary (quality, sourcing, logistics, production, HR, controlling)

    

11.    Acts as an interface between the Product Solution R&D function and production in MAU Shanghai: receives prototype, ensures product documentation, testing solutions and BOMs (Bill of Materials) are available, provides feedback to R&D in case design changes are necessary for efficient serial production

    

12.    Co-operates with sourcing and logistics to make sure necessary suppliers and components are available for the new product

    

13.    Develops production processes and tools necessary for efficient serial production

    

14.    When project is landed and completed (approval from quality and customer) hands it over to production

    

15.    Continuously working on technology and production process improvements by using lean methods

    

16.    Responsible for archive management, SOP making & updating. Responsible for production process inspection, support internal & external audit.

    

17.    Drive and lead continues improvement projects and seek for further improvement opportunities.

    

18.    Other tasks assigned by PE & FCA Manager.

Experience

More than 10 years working experience in the industry machinery related in international, multinational environment with manufacturing.

    

Experience with construction or port machinery and hydraulic, combustion engine, vehicle electrical control system is preferred.

Education

Bachelor degree or higher in engineering;

    

Major in mechanical or electrical, automobile prefers.

Skills

Experience in managing new product introduction, technology and product transfer projects across countries

    

Knowledge of manufacturing quality standards and requirements

    

Knowledge of lean management tools and methods

    

ERP knowledge preferably BAAN

    

Proficient in MS-Office, AutoCAD. Experience with mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems，

    

Independent and innovative.

    

Familiar with the knowledge of ergonomics.

    

Good at oral and written English;

    

Service minded and team player with strong leadership skills
