Product Owner

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Working with current and potential clients as well as EARLY DATA commercial staff, create and implement processes to formulate a deep understanding of client needs. Identify current product enhancements and new products which meet and even exceed client needs.

  2. Understand the full range of competitive offerings in the marketplace, both in and outside of China. Understand how clients use those services, and the key value propositions which other agencies use to promote these offerings. Work to identify gaps between market offerings and client needs, as well as weak points of competitive offerings.

  3. Understand how client organizations work, who in these organizations have the potential to use new products, how they would use new products, and who can influence purchasing decisions.

  4. Develop and manage all company products in terms of overall vision, strategy, launch, technology roadmaps and business plans. Includes current status (version control), line extensions, new launches, sun setting (product expiration).

  5. Lead the internal process with technology teams to deliver against specifications of product enhancements and new products. Work with technology teams on delivery, including product design and implementation.

  6. Take an active role in the sales process, support key client RFP processes.

  7. Deliver the knowledge, tools, messaging that enable effective marketing and selling of new products. Work with Marketing to create and manage programs to generate demand for the product.

 

Requirements:

  1. 8-10 years’ relevant direct experience in Product Management or Product Marketing roles.

  2. Consumer Products related experience in Manufacturer, Agency, or ecommerce/Digital marketplace. Ideally FMCG experience.

  3. Experience working directly with consumer product companies, particularly in understanding their business needs and priorities. Experience in and ability to speak with various functions inside client organizations.

  4. Ability to understand and demonstrate how marketing data can help potential clients.

  5. Ability to work with and lead technical teams in understanding on and delivering against product specifications. Able to keep teams focused on key tasks and timelines.

  6. Ideally have working knowledge of SQL, Python, and/or Java.

  7. Degree or other qualification, ideally in Business, Economics, or Computer Science.

  8. Native Mandarin Chinese speaker with strong English language ability.
