1. Summary


Vendor Quality Surveillance (VQS) ensures that material/equipment meets the quality requirements as specified by the engineer and the process commences at purchase order award until appropriate releases have been done to enable delivery. VQS primarily interfaces with engineering and expediting (other than normal internal procurement interfaces).


An intimate knowledge of applicable codes and standards and a capability to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements is of the essence. The Senior Quality Inspector is concerned with the coordination function between all internal disciplines as well as client and vendor representatives. Well developed planning skills and strong interpersonal skills is required and although this function is largely office based the Senior Quality Inspector should be suitably experienced and qualified to perform physical inspections when required.


2. Key Responsibilities


· Drafting of the VQS plan in conjunction with the VQS Lead to define appropriate surveillance levels for manufacturing and fabrication process


· Implementing Vendor Quality Surveillance practices and procedures


· Coordinate the VQS function (such as inspections, document reviews, etc.) with all parties involved


· Ensure that the data for reporting is complete and accurate


· Coordinate the receipt of supplier documents related to the quality deliverables


· Coordinate the review and approval process of vendor documents (e.g. ITP, Inspection Certifications, Vendor Data, etc.)


· Facilitate efficient and effective NCR closure with relevant parties from engineering and vendor personnel


· Receipt and coordination of inspection notifications for all assigned project purchase orders


· Interface with vendor, client and project members regarding quality issues, such as:


w Maintain and update Vendor Quality Surveillance Plan


w Maintain and update all Vendor Quality Surveillance Registers


w Participate in the purchase order close-out process.


3. Qualifications and Experience


Essential


1. Relevant technical qualifications in NDT, welding, painting, mechanical manufacturing, electrical installation.


2. Appropriate qualification and statutory licenses to undertake inspection activities as required


3. High degree of technical aptitude and familiarity with various materials and supply items


4. Previous experience with quality control and quality assurance Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 19011 requirements


5. Good knowledge of rules and regulations to be applied for inspection and testing activities


6. Proven track record in a similar position


7. Excellent understanding of project execution, especially in an EPCM environment with a strong materials management focus


8. Strong administrative skills.


9. Excellent written communication and computer skills, Microsoft suite of software


10. More than 10 years’ working experiences





Preferred


· ISO lead auditor or auditor experiences.


· Managerial training.
