Sourcing Administrator

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

A Sourcing Administrator for the Kalmar Global Sourcing Organization is accountable for supporting the local sourcing team in leading a relatively small group of suppliers to world-class supply chain results in the scope of a global organization. World-class is defined as optimal Quality, Delivery, and Cost performance as well as Risk management. The Sourcing Administrator is an important member of the sourcing team and must be well aligned with supplier-related processes like RFQs, new parts sourcing, system maintenance, etc. Essential to this position is supporting all supplier-related activities, both for ongoing production as well as new product introduction. The position requires good communication, IT systems knowledge as well as analytical skills.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Support to drive profits using cost-saving strategies and project management skills to effectively lower manufacturing costs for component spend.
• Support to implement cost improvement strategies by supplier to achieve cost targets.
• Demonstrate teamwork with colleagues to achieve results.
• Support to optimize the supplier base for their respective category group and spend responsibilities.
• Support to select and develop suppliers to achieve world-class results on quality, delivery, and cost.
• Support to implement action plans to continuously improve their suppliers.
• Complete project work in the given scope.
• Support analyses of financial data to find new potential savings areas.

HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for securing own and co-workers’ safety and health with all possible means and in compliance with the law.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or engineering.
• A Master’s degree is a plus but not required.

Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment is preferable, fresh post-graduate is an option.

Competencies

• Value Engineering/Cost Reduction & Standardization is preferred.
• Project Management experience is valued
• Fluent in English is required, other languages are a plus.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Knowledge in ERP/MRP systems is valued.
• Proficient in the use of Google Suite, including Sheets, Slides & Microsoft office software, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
