About the role

As a Senior Associate you’ll work closely with our Regional Leader, Principals and team members.

In this market-facing role, you will be activity engaging with clients. Your knowledge of design and market trends in the Mainland China architecture market will allow you to identify opportunities for client engagement/partnerships. You will be responsible for creating strategies to advance opportunities that develop and strengthen Hassell’s profile within this market.

Actively contributing to the design culture at Hassell, you will efficiently lead, motivate and drive design teams through collaborative teamwork.

You will manage projects profitably by identifying efficiencies, advancing project management processes and anticipating resourcing requirements.

Promoting awareness of environmental and social responsibilities in design, you will design office practices and procedures which lead to a more sustainable use of resources

About you

You’re an established and recognised architect and leader within the industry with strong build experience and built portfolio. Your prior projects will have focused on Commercial and Mixed Use precincts in Mainland China.

Your substantial prior involvement in pursuing work, coupled with experience and skill in contending in significant competitions make you highly networked and regarded within the Mainland China market - this reputation will be instrumental in your ability to attract and engage with clients where you will represent Hassell’s passion for design.

Ideally, you are actively participating or are a member of industry/professional associations and forums in the local market.

The extensive focus on client relationships mean fluency in English and Mandarin language is essential in this role.
