SENIOR USER EXPERIENCE DESIGNER

1. DESCRIPTION

We are seeking talented senior user experience designers to create simply amazing experiences for our customers. We take a human-centered design approach to create a holistic, end-to-end user experience across every user touch point for our Connected Vehicle Business in Garrett Advancing Motion. We work on a wide variety of products, domains and applications to keep you engaged, challenged and learning: For example,

? We conduct ethnographic studies to understand consumers’ unmet needs for Connected Vehicles and Turbocharging and apply these insights as we develop products and associated Apps.

? We collaborate with contractors to design for greater integration, safety and usability.

? We partner with our IT and Marcom teams to create a branded, seamless experience on our customer portals and channel websites.

For this position, we are looking for people with strong skills in qualitative and quantitative user research and testing methods, including product-focused & process-focused lab studies, user interface designing, usability evaluation, contextual inquiry, surveys, interviews, focus groups, and rapid ethnography. We would like to hear from people with proven skills in generative and evaluative user research, discovering, interpreting and communicating user insights for product and software design. Our team is nimble and agile with limited hierarchy and lots of ownership. This position reports directly to the IT Domain Leader for Connected Vehicles in Garrett IT organization.

2. RESPONSIBILITIES

? Leading user experience design work on major Garrett Motion’s Connected Vehicles projects, working with other design leads across the businesses and our network of external design partners

? Facilitate/Lead user experience design workshops and ideation sessions as they pertain to program execution

? Providing a clear, consistent voice on end-to-end user experience design to project teams and stakeholders.

? Create, maintain, and update tools that leverage insights (persona, customer journey maps, and similar) to be used in product and process design discussions.

? Creating and executing user experience designs (UXD) Garrett Motion Connected Vehicles products and services that differentiate our brands in the marketplace around the world.

? Partner with our IT and Marcom teams to create a branded, seamless experience on our customer portals and channel websites.

? Executing UXD best practices throughout the product development process.

? Take ownership and drive multiple UXD project assignments, innovations, product & process improvements, etc.

3. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

? Bachelors or master’s degree in human factors, cognitive psychology, human-computer interaction, user experience design or a related field

? 6+ years of relevant work experience in applied design / user research and usability testing

? 3+ years leading design projects

? Good English communication skills

4. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

? Strong portfolio of applying user-centered design practices in product/process development.

? Demonstrated leadership skills in successfully scoping, planning and executing projects in accordance with a phases and gates development process.

? Experience in evaluating products using: design trends, heuristic reviews, competitive benchmarking, formative and summative usability studies.

? Demonstrable talent in developing industry-leading user interface designs.

? Proficient interaction design skills, e.g., information architecture, workflows, wireframes, UI behaviors and patterns documentation

? Experience creating low-fidelity to high-fidelity user interface models and prototypes, e.g., Adobe XD, Axure, Sketch, Invision, Photoshop, Balsamiq.

? International experience working with regional businesses and design teams.

? Demonstrated leadership experience in coordinating and overseeing entry level professionals.

? Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

? Excellent collaboration and teamwork attitude

? Ability to multi-task: Lead/Support multiple UXD projects at the same time.

? Ability to ask, as well as answer, meaningful and impactful questions.

? Knowledge of CSS and HTML5 is a big plus
