The primary focus will be on developing quality systems which will deliver consistent results to NHT and other Novum global entities. Incumbent will work with NUS, NHT and established and new vendors to develop quality procedures and quality standards for all items procured by the Novum group in China, as well as, satisfactory documentation for both internal and external compliance and improvement. This will include making recommendations, backed up by data, of the necessary organizational structure and resources to meet required quality goals.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

1. Establish supplier quality performance management system to evaluate existing supplier performance on a monthly basis.

2. Analyze supplier quality performance for each supplier on a monthly basis and provide solutions to suppliers to improve their quality performance.

3. Monitor the NHT quality team to affirm they conduct Novum quality inspection to established standards.

4. Correspond and communicate with NUS, other Novum entities and suppliers to solve any problems during sample and mass production stages.

5. Take corrective and effective action to deal with quality claims or complaints from NUS and other Novum entities; investigate root cause, develop and execute solution(s) to those issues and verify suppliers have implemented the defined Corrective Action Plan. 6. Provide regular training to NHT inspectors and suppliers.

7. Participate in new supplier evaluation and yearly audit for existing suppliers.

8. Review and give final approval of products material certificates and inspection reports.

9. Maintain register and calibration records of NHT-QA inspection tools.

10. Must have the ability to travel to supplier and vendor site locations on a regular basis (up to 30% travel). Every effort will be made to plan trips in advance, but short notice trips may be required based on quality need.

 

 Relationship

 1. Work with customers and suppliers to solve quality problems.

2. Work closely with all Novum entities to solve quality issues in China .

3. Report status of Novum’s quality goals to NUS QA Manager (solid line)

- Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's. Degree in an Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

2.At least 10 + years of Quality, Engineering or related experience.

3.Thorough knowledge of International Standard Quality Management Systems (ISO/IATF 16949 as applicable for automotive sector) is mandatory.

4.Certification as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB), or Certified Quality Manager (CQMgr) is preferred.

5. Knowledge of manufacturing and quality technologies.

6. Experience with quality improvement tools and techniques (i.e., Lean, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis).

7. Demonstrated leadership, project management, facilitation and problem-solving skills.

8. Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
